Welcome!

To all those who have somehow found this blog, I heartily welcome you! This is my place to talk about all the nerdy things I love and waste time on each day (when I'm not traveling the world in search of the finest material known to man and blindly stumbling into edgi adventures). I will be posting art here and anything else I find of interest.

I'll start off with an interesting bit of video from 1904. I just discovered this video on a very interesting blog called The Pompomist.

I find it fascinating to look through this window back in time to 104 years ago. The street scenes actually do not look that out of the ordinary until you take into account all the vehicles are either horse drawn carriages or a steam train on an elevated platform.

LONDON, 1904

Next, here are a couple of pieces of old artwork that still make me laugh...

The comic book page I did when I was in High School...back in the early 1950's.

Now, a bit of real artwork from one of the great masters, John Buscema:

No one could wield a brush like Big John Buscema. I remember getting the "How To Draw Comics The Marvel Way" book as a kid and I could never pronounce his name. I finally asked Stan Lee at a comic convention one year, and he told me you gotta call him "Big John Beuseema". He was one of the greats.

Also, anyone remember Bob Wilkins?

If you grew up in the Bay Area you do. Here is a bit of history for you...

Finally, what nerd post would be complete without a Star Trek reference:

Shatner is obviously choking on his own extraordinary talent.

Beam me up Lysistrata...
